The Journal of Panzhihua University is the academic journal sponsored by Panzhihua University in Panzhihua, Sichuan Province. The sponsoring university

Panzhihua University was founded in 1983. It merged with Panzhihua Education College in 1994 and with the Panzhihua Health School of Sichuan Province in 1998. In 2001 the Ministry of Education approved its conversion into an undergraduate college, renamed Panzhihua College; it was added as a bachelor's degree granting unit in 2005. In 2007 the Panzhihua Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital was placed under the university as its directly affiliated hospital, giving the institution a clinical arm that matches the health school it had absorbed in 1998. Panzhihua is famous as China's vanadium and titanium capital, a Sunshine Flower City and health resort, and the biggest base of the iron and steel industry in western China, built on the Panxi region's vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite deposits. The university's research structure mirrors the city: it hosts a national key laboratory for vanadium and titanium testing, a national Panzhihua vanadium and titanium incubator and a Sichuan provincial key laboratory for the comprehensive utilisation of vanadium and titanium resources, among some fifty research platforms above municipal level; its recorded research includes an innovative process for the comprehensive utilisation of vanadium-bearing titanomagnetite concentrate. In 2018 a dedicated Vanadium-Titanium College and an Intelligent Manufacturing College were established.
