The Caledonian-Record is a daily newspaper based in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, serving Caledonia County and northeastern Vermont, plus northern New Hampshire. Published six days a week with no Sunday edition, it is the Northeast Kingdom's independent daily.
Founded in August 1837 as the weekly Caledonian by Albert G. Chadwick, the Caledonian-Record name dates to a 1919 merger of the St. Johnsbury Caledonian and the Barton Record.
The paper has been family-owned by the Smith family since Herbert A. Smith bought it in 1919, spanning four generations of Smith publishers. It is headquartered at 190 Federal Street in St. Johnsbury.
