About Mybike
Mybike
Mybike (MYBIKE) is the German e-bike and touring magazine, published six times a year from Bielefeld by Delius Klasing. Launched in February 2018 with a first print run of 100,000 copies — presented in September 2017 at Friedrichshafen — the magazine merged the publisher's two established titles E-BIKE and TREKKINGBIKE into one journal for the touring, leisure, and e-bikers. With the test reports, the service and workshop tips, and the tour suggestions for all cycling disciplines — with or without motor — MYBIKE serves the growing community of electric cyclists: the commuters, the tourers, and the leisure riders for whom the e-bike has opened new horizons. The magazine's website has been folded, with the sister titles EMTB and FREERIDE, under the roof of bike-magazin.de — the largest German-language cycling portal — and the tour portal touren.bike-magazin.de (built with Outdooractive in March 2024) carries the premium tours of the Delius Klasing cycling magazines. In the German cycling press, MYBIKE is the e-bike journal: the magazine of electric mobility on two wheels.
Overview
The magazine presents itself as the journal for the touring, leisure, and e-bikers — the riders united by the growing interest in all cycling topics with the focus on electric mobility on two wheels. Its editorial program covers the e-cycling spectrum: the current test reports — the e-bikes, the trekking bikes, the components, and the accessories evaluated in the magazine's tests; the service and workshop tips — the maintenance, the care, the repairs, and the technical knowledge; and the tour suggestions — the cycling holidays, the day tours, and the travel features for all cycling disciplines, with or without motor.
The readership is the German-speaking e-bike and touring community: the commuters who ride to work electrically, the tourers who explore the regions, the leisure riders who enjoy the assisted cycling, and the travelers who plan the cycling holidays. The magazine's authority rests on the Delius Klasing cycling portfolio: the publisher of BIKE (Europe's first mountain-bike magazine), TOUR (the leading road-cycling magazine), FREERIDE, and EMTB — the cycling-media house whose test expertise and tour knowledge MYBIKE shares. The 2026 price list (Nr. 9, valid from January 1, 2026) documents the magazine's commercial program: the full-page rate of 6,890 euros, the cover placements, and the ad specials.
The six-issues-a-year rhythm follows the cycling seasons: the February issue for the season start, the spring and summer issues for the touring, the autumn issue for the product news, and the December issue (01/27, on sale December 1, 2026) for the winter planning. The subscription — six MYBIKE issues for 45.90 euros — includes all bike-magazin.de articles, the Delius Klasing kiosk app's e-papers, and the web reader.
History
MYBIKE's history begins with the merger decision: in September 2017, Delius Klasing presented the new magazine at Friedrichshafen — the consolidation of the two established titles E-BIKE and TREKKINGBIKE into one journal. The launch in February 2018 came with a first print run of 100,000 copies and an elaborate marketing campaign, at a cover price of 5.20 euros per issue. The editor-in-chief: Thomas Musch — the former E-BIKE editor-in-chief, who also leads Europe's largest road-cycling magazine TOUR. The publishing director: Olaf Klinger (Verlagsleiter Zeitschriften). The editorial team combined the journalists of the two merged magazines with freelance authors.
The merger's rationale — per Klinger — united the target groups: the touring, leisure, and e-bikers share the growing interest in all cycling topics with the focus on e-mobility on two wheels, and MYBIKE opens itself to the rising number of people who share the passion for cycling. The two existing websites — trekkingbike.com and ebikemagazin.de — were merged into the new cycling portal mybike-magazin.de.
The magazine's digital consolidation continued: MYBIKE's website — like the sister magazines EMTB and FREERIDE before it — moved under the roof of the BIKE website, making bike-magazin.de the largest German-language cycling portal, with each cycling discipline's own section. In March 2024, Delius Klasing and Outdooractive launched the tour portal touren.bike-magazin.de — the central place for the premium tours of the cycling magazines BIKE, TOUR, FREERIDE, EMTB, and MYBIKE, complemented by Outdooractive's partner and community tours, with the "Delius Klasing: Rad Touren" app for planning and navigation. The RADREISEN special issues — such as the 2023 edition with 30 cycling tours in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy (7.90 euros) — extend the magazine into the travel specials.
Coverage and Content
The magazine's coverage follows the e-biker's world. Test reports form the core: the e-bikes — the trekking e-bikes, the city e-bikes, the SUV e-bikes, and the speed pedelecs — evaluated in the magazine's comparative tests; the components and accessories — the motors, the batteries, the displays, the luggage, and the safety equipment; and the buying advice that guides the readers' purchasing decisions in the booming e-bike market.
Service and workshop tips provide the technical knowledge: the maintenance and care — the battery handling, the software updates, the winter storage; the repairs — the workshop guides for the home mechanics; and the technical explainers — the motor systems, the sensor technologies, and the range optimization. The tour suggestions inspire the riding: the day tours, the multi-day tours, and the cycling holidays — with the GPS data, the accommodation selections, and the sightseeing tips, as in the RADREISEN specials.
The magazine's topics span the cycling disciplines with and without motor: the commuting — the everyday cycling, the rain jackets, the practical equipment; the touring — the regions, the routes, the travel planning; and the overlapping themes — the frame construction, the component developments, and the bikepacking trend that interests the readers across the disciplines.
Organization and Ownership
MYBIKE is published by Delius Klasing & Co. KG in Bielefeld (Siekerwall 21, 33602 Bielefeld) — the publishing house founded in 1920, with 100–199 employees, behind the cycling magazines BIKE, TOUR, FREERIDE, EMTB, and MYBIKE, the water-sports titles YACHT and BOOTE, and the classic-car and model magazines. The editor-in-chief: Thomas Musch (also of TOUR). The publishing director for the magazines: Olaf Klinger. The digital leadership: Ralf Beutler (Digitalchef).
The commercial model is that of a special-interest cycling magazine: subscriptions (six issues for 45.90 euros, print + digital with the kiosk app and web reader) and newsstand sales to the e-bike community, advertising from the bicycle manufacturers, the component and accessory industry, and the tourism destinations (per the 2026 price list), and the special issues (RADREISEN) and the tour portal's commercial offerings.
Digital Presence
The magazine's digital home was mybike-magazin.de — now folded, with EMTB and FREERIDE, under the roof of bike-magazin.de, the largest German-language cycling portal. The portal covers all facets of cycling — from the spectacular downhill biking to the everyday bicycle commuting — with each cycling discipline's own section: the extensive tests, the guides, the tour tips, and the news. The tour portal touren.bike-magazin.de — the Delius Klasing–Outdooractive partnership — carries the premium tours of the cycling magazines with the planning and navigation app.
The Delius Klasing shop (shop.delius-klasing.de) handles the MYBIKE subscriptions — the print + digital bundles with the kiosk app, the web reader, and the premium choices (the BIKE-COMPONENTS and Stadler vouchers, the cycling-travel specials). The reader contact: info@mybike-magazin.de. From the 2018 Friedrichshafen launch to the bike-magazin.de portal, MYBIKE has been the German e-biker's journal: the six-times-a-year magazine of electric mobility on two wheels, from Bielefeld — and, within the Delius Klasing cycling portfolio, the title that brought the touring, leisure, and e-bike readers together under one roof.
