Begin with the language you can use
The Languages directory groups media by recorded publication or broadcast languages. Open a language page to see its current listings, then refine by media type or location. Counts describe WorldNM’s published records; they are not estimates of all media worldwide.
A language is not a country
The same language can be used by outlets in many countries. A country can also have media in several languages. Combining language and country filters is useful when you want a local perspective in a language you understand. Broaden the location if a search returns no records.
Check the edition you reach
An outlet may operate different language editions with different story selections. The profile’s website link may open one of those editions. Use the official language selector if you need another service. Do not assume that every article or broadcast has a translated equivalent.
Keep translation context visible
If you use a translation tool, preserve the original link and identify the original language in your notes. Names, quotations and specialist terms can require extra checking. For an important passage, compare the original context or seek help from someone fluent in the language. A translated headline alone is a weak basis for a conclusion.
Suggest missing language information
If an outlet offers a language that is missing from its profile, use Claim / Update and link to the official edition. If the entire outlet is missing, use Submit Media. These suggestions are reviewed before they become public directory information.
