About Shanghai DZH

Shanghai DZH

Overview

Shanghai DZH, known in full as Shanghai DZH Limited and in Chinese through its Dazhihui brand, is a Chinese internet financial information service provider based in Shanghai. Company profile descriptions state that it primarily operates as an internet financial information service provider in China and internationally, offering professional financial data and data analysis services using software terminals as a carrier and the internet as a platform, together with financial information integrated services. In everyday terms, DZH sells the screens and apps through which investors follow China's securities markets: timely and professional securities information and data delivered through a mobile app, personal computer software, cloud services, interactive live broadcasts and television terminals. Its named solutions include the Great Wisdom mobile app — Great Wisdom being the English rendering of Dazhihui — Wisdom PC terminals, the Dazhihui financial information terminal, and Huixin CRM links for institutional customers. Founded in 2000 and listed in Shanghai in 2011, DZH is one of the established generation of Chinese financial data companies that grew up with the retail expansion of China's stock markets, alongside Wind Information and Hithink RoyalFlush's Tonghuashun. It is smaller than those two leaders, but it has operated continuously for a quarter of a century and remains a listed public company.

Founding in 2000

Shanghai DZH Limited was founded in 2000. That date is consistently recorded across stock profile and company information services, which also place its headquarters in Pudong, Shanghai. The founding year is informative about the company's origins. In 2000 China's stock markets were a decade old, internet access was spreading through Chinese cities, and a generation of software companies was forming to deliver stock quotations, charts and company information to investors on personal computers, replacing the printed tables and exchange hall quotation boards of the 1990s. Dazhihui, whose name translates as great wisdom, became one of the recognised Chinese brands in that stock software market. Unlike Wind, which concentrated on institutional users and stayed private, and unlike Hithink, which was founded in Hangzhou in 1995 and built an internet portal model, DZH developed as a Shanghai securities information company whose products addressed both individual investors and the securities firms that served them. Its Shanghai base placed it in the same city as the Shanghai Stock Exchange and the country's largest concentration of securities firms, the customers and data sources around which its business was built.

Listing on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2011

DZH listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange under the code 601519, with trading in its shares starting on 28 January 2011, as recorded in stock information for the security 601519 on the Shanghai exchange's main A-share market. The listing made DZH a main-board public company, in contrast to Hithink's 2009 listing in Shenzhen. As a listed company it discloses financial statements and share information publicly. Stock data services record about 1.99 billion shares outstanding in the mid-2020s and a market capitalisation of about 17.56 billion yuan as of late October 2026, figures that fluctuate with the share price and are given here as a dated snapshot rather than a constant. Listing also exposes DZH to the governance and disclosure discipline, and the market judgement, that come with a public quotation: its revenue, profitability and corporate transactions are reported in filings and followed by data services in a way that a private rival's are not. The 601519 code remains the quickest identifier for the company in financial databases, where it appears as Shanghai DZH Ltd, Shanghai DZH Limited and the ticker 601519.SS or 601519.SH depending on the provider's convention.

Products: app, PC terminals and the Dazhihui terminal

The company's product line is organised around the channels investors actually use. Its descriptions list the Great Wisdom mobile app for smartphone users, Wisdom PC terminals for desktop users, and the Dazhihui financial information terminal as its professional product, together with cloud delivery, interactive live broadcast formats and TV terminals. Summaries of the business describe market data tools, trading and research software and mobile finance apps that let users check quotes, read news, analyse listed companies and place trades through linked brokerage services. This multi-channel structure reflects the history of Chinese retail investing technology. The PC terminal was the original home of Chinese stock software, with charting, screening and level-based quotation functions sold as premium packages. Mobile apps then became the mass channel as smartphones spread, adding push information and community and broadcast features. Television terminals reached investors through a further domestic screen. By maintaining products across all of these channels rather than a single app, DZH addressed a broad and older-skewing retail base, including investors whose habits were formed in the PC software era. The professional terminal, meanwhile, kept the company present in the institutional and active-trader segment contested by Wind and iFinD.

Customers and business model

DZH's customers are individual investors, securities firms and other financial institutions that need market data and user-facing finance tools. Its main customers, as summarised by financial data services, are people following China's stock market and other financial markets for their own investing, and the firms that need to supply them with information and trading access. The company makes money by charging for premium data and information services, software and related services, rather than by operating as a securities broker itself. That model places DZH in the information layer of the securities industry: exchanges and listed companies generate the raw disclosures and prices, brokers execute trades and hold client accounts, and vendors such as DZH package the information into tools investors pay for directly or receive through their broker. The model has advantages — it does not require the capital or the full licensing burden of a brokerage — and a clear vulnerability, in that demand for premium information rises and falls with market activity and the willingness of retail investors to pay during quiet markets. DZH's published revenue history shows that pattern, with annual revenue in the hundreds of millions of yuan in the late 2010s and 2020s, varying year by year rather than growing monotonically.

Headquarters, employees and scale

DZH is headquartered in Pudong, Shanghai, with a recorded address in Building 1, Pudong, postcode 200127, in company profile listings. Pudong is the district that also contains Lujiazui, Shanghai's financial centre, placing the company within the city's securities industry cluster rather than in a technology park in another city. Stock statistics services recorded an employee count of 1,684 for the company in the mid-2020s, together with revenue per employee figures derived from its reported results. That headcount gives a concrete sense of DZH's scale: substantially larger than a niche software house, with the sales, data, engineering and customer service staff required to run national information products, but well below the largest Chinese financial information groups. Employee numbers in this industry support labour-intensive work that is easy to overlook from the product side, including cleaning and structuring exchange and company data, maintaining terminal software across operating systems and devices, serving brokerage clients, and producing and moderating financial information and broadcast content. A company of roughly seventeen hundred employees sustaining a listed information business for over two decades is a mid-sized, established operator, and that is how DZH is best characterised in the Chinese market.

International market data and the Euronext agreement

Although DZH's business centres on Chinese markets, it also acted as a conduit for foreign market data into China. In April 2016 Euronext announced the signing of market data agreements with Chinese data vendors East Money, Shanghai DZH Limited and Shanghai Wind Information, which would allow them to distribute Euronext's market data in mainland China. Euronext said that, as of that signing, up to 100 million Chinese retail and institutional investors had the opportunity to follow Euronext markets in the Chinese language. SSE Infonet, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, acted as market agent in the agreements, following a September 2015 partnership between the Shanghai Stock Exchange and Euronext to enhance the promotion and marketing of Euronext's cash, derivatives, commodities and index data in China. For DZH, being one of only three named vendors in that arrangement confirmed its standing at the time as one of China's leading securities information distributors, in the same company as East Money and Wind. It also marked the direction of Chinese investor demand in the mid-2010s, when growing numbers of mainland investors and institutions sought information on European and other overseas listings alongside domestic shares.

Financial profile in recent reported years

DZH's reported financial record in the decade to the mid-2020s was uneven, and a factual profile should say so plainly rather than presenting the company only through its products. Compiled income statement data from financial data services show annual revenue of about 1.1 billion yuan in 2016, falling to about 638 million yuan in 2017 and 594 million yuan in 2018, then recovering to a range of roughly 683 million to 819 million yuan between 2019 and 2021, and about 771 million to 827 million yuan in the years from 2023 to 2025. Profitability was similarly variable, with compiled data recording a large loss in 2016 and modest results in several later years, and statistics services recording a small loss in the twelve months to late October 2026 on revenue of about 864 million yuan. These figures are drawn from data-service compilations of the company's filings and will not match every provider's presentation in detail, but the overall picture is consistent: DZH is a revenue business of somewhat under one billion yuan a year in recent periods, materially smaller than Hithink, whose 2024 revenue exceeded four billion yuan, and it has not converted its long operating history into the profitability of the sector's leaders. That context is essential to understanding both its market position and the corporate transaction discussed next.

The proposed Xiangcai merger

In the mid-2020s DZH became party to a proposed consolidation in China's securities industry. Reporting based on company announcements in 2026 described a transaction involving Xiangcai Co., Ltd. issuing A shares to absorb and merge Shanghai DZH while raising matching funds. In September 2026 DZH announced that the Shanghai Stock Exchange had suspended the review of the proposed transaction with Xiangcai because the financial data included in the application documents had reached its validity deadline on 30 September 2026; the audited financial statements in the application had a cutoff date of 31 December 2025 and a validity of six months under regulatory rules. The company stated that the suspension would not cause a material adverse impact and that normal business operations remained unaffected, and that DZH and the relevant intermediaries were updating the required financial data to request a resumption of the review process. An absorption by a securities firm would fit a wider pattern in Chinese finance, in which information vendors are combined with licensed brokers so that data, traffic and trading execution sit inside one regulated group. As of the reporting available for this profile, however, the transaction was a proposal under review whose review had been suspended for a documentation timing reason, not a completed merger, and DZH remained an independently listed company.

Position in China's financial information industry

Shanghai DZH's significance is that of a durable second-tier national vendor in a market dominated by a few names. Wind Information sets the institutional standard and is described as by far the biggest player in China's financial data market. Hithink's Tonghuashun holds the largest retail audience, with more than 100 million users. East Money built a larger combined media, fund and brokerage group. Within that company, DZH's record — founded in 2000, listed in 2011 as 601519, products across mobile, PC, cloud, live broadcast and TV channels, about 1,684 employees, and selection as one of three vendors to distribute Euronext data in mainland China — is that of an established specialist that survived the successive transitions from PC stock software to mobile apps and cloud delivery. Its Dazhihui brand remains one of the names Chinese investors of the PC terminal generation recognise immediately. For a directory of news and information agencies, DZH belongs in the financial information category alongside its better-known rivals: not a newsroom wire service, but one of the companies through which securities information, prices and analysis reach China's investors every trading day.
