About Billiard TV

Billiard TV: The Round-the-Clock Home of Cue Sports

Billiard TV is a 24-hour television network devoted exclusively to cue sports — pool, billiards and their many competitive forms. Founded in 2021 and operated by Triple B Media, it has grown from a niche streaming idea into one of the most widely distributed free ad-supported streaming television (FAST) sports channels in the world, available in the United Kingdom on Prime Video UK and through the Channelbox Freeview streaming service, among a long list of platforms.

The channel's proposition is simple and, for its audience, long overdue. Cue sports have millions of devoted players and fans, world-class professional tours and dramatic team events, yet they have historically received scattered television coverage outside a handful of marquee tournaments. Billiard TV set out to superserve that underserved fan base, in the words of its co-founder, by combining hundreds of hours of live tournament coverage with archive footage, highlights and classic matches running around the clock.

Overview

Billiard TV programmes nothing but cue sports. Its output spans nine-ball pool, other pool disciplines, and the wider billiards family, drawn from professional tours, team competitions, women's events and amateur championships. In 2025 alone the channel carried around 150 days of live event programming, and by the end of that year it expected to have streamed more than fifty multi-day professional events totalling over 1,000 hours of live coverage.

Between live events, the schedule runs on highlights, full-event replays and library programming, so the channel functions both as a live sports broadcaster and as a permanent archive channel for a sport whose classic matches were once hard to find legally in one place. That dual role is the core of the FAST model: a single, always-on stream that a fan can leave running like a traditional sports channel.

History and Launch

Billiard TV was founded in 2021. It arrived at the moment when free ad-supported streaming channels were multiplying across connected television, and when sports rights holders were discovering that a dedicated FAST channel could aggregate a fragmented global audience more effectively than occasional slots on general sports networks.

The channel's growth since then has been announced platform by platform. Its FAST channel debuted on Prime Video in the United States in April 2025, a milestone its operators described as a big deal for the sport, and it followed that with launches including The Roku Channel and, in October 2025, Prime Video UK. Each launch followed the same logic: cue sports fans are everywhere, watch for long sessions, and will find the channel wherever it is made free and easy to reach.

Ownership and Operator

Billiard TV is operated by Triple B Media, a United States company based in North Haven, Connecticut, from where the channel's launch announcements are issued. Its co-founder and chief commercial officer, Brendan Canning, has been the public voice of the channel's expansion, fronting its platform announcements and articulating its strategy of serving a loyal fan base that general broadcasters had neglected.

The operating model is partnership-driven rather than rights-hoarding. Instead of owning a league, Billiard TV aggregates the sport: it works with promoters, tours and governing organisations to carry their events and archives, giving smaller competitions a television window they could not build alone, while giving viewers a single destination. That aggregator position explains both the breadth of its schedule and the speed of its distribution growth.

Programming and Schedule

The centrepiece of the schedule is live tournament coverage: around 150 days of it in 2025, across more than fifty multi-day events. A partnership with Matchroom, the promoter behind many of pool's biggest properties, brought Billiard TV highlights and full-event footage from ten years of the Mosconi Cup, the annual nine-ball team contest between Europe and the United States that is widely described as the most prestigious international nine-ball pool tournament in the world. For many fans, that archive alone justifies the channel.

Around the Mosconi material sits coverage drawn from the Pro Billiard Series, the Euro Tour, the Women's Professional Billiard Association, the International Pool Association, the American Poolplayers Association and Accu-Stats, whose long history of recording professional pool gives the channel depth in classic matches. The mix deliberately spans the sport's pyramid: elite invitationals, ranking tours, women's competition and the mass-participation amateur game, reflecting a sport in which the distance between viewer and player is unusually short — many viewers own a cue.

Availability and Platforms

Few FAST channels list distribution as wide as Billiard TV's. Its operators' October 2025 platform list included Prime Video, DirecTV, Samsung TV Plus, The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, LG Channels, DAZN, YouTube TV, Fubo, Sling TV, Xfinity Stream, Xumo Play, Rogers, Google Freeplay, Plex, DistroTV, Local Now, TiVo, Free Live Sports, TCL, Sports.tv, Freecast, Stremium, Channelbox and Vidaa, plus the channel's own Roku app.

For United Kingdom viewers there are two headline routes. Billiard TV launched as a FAST channel on Prime Video UK in October 2025, free within the Prime Video app's Live TV section on mobile, tablet, Fire TV, smart TVs and set-top boxes. It is also carried via Channelbox, the streaming platform on connected Freeview, which is the route by which it appears in UK channel listings. In both cases no separate subscription to the channel is required; advertising supports the service.

Audience and Market

The viewing figures the channel publishes suggest its bet on loyalty was right. Billiard TV reported more than 65 million viewers in 2024, with an average watch time of 80 minutes per session — a strikingly long dwell time by streaming standards, and a natural one for a sport whose matches unfold over hours and reward sustained attention.

Cue sports occupy a distinctive place in British sporting culture, where snooker is a mainstream television sport and pool is played in pubs and clubs across the country. A dedicated international pool channel therefore lands on receptive ground in the UK: viewers raised on televised snooker understand the grammar of cue sports coverage, while active pool players get the wall-to-wall coverage of their own game that British broadcasters have rarely provided. The Mosconi Cup, contested by European and American teams, gives that audience a natural tribal focus each year.

Partnerships and Sister Services

Billiard TV's partnerships map the institutional structure of modern cue sports. Matchroom supplies prestige and archive, headlined by the Mosconi Cup. The Pro Billiard Series and Euro Tour supply ranking-event volume. The Women's Professional Billiard Association ensures the women's game is part of the schedule rather than an afterthought. The International Pool Association and the American Poolplayers Association connect the channel to organised amateur play, and Accu-Stats contributes a deep recorded heritage of the professional game.

There is no sister entertainment channel in the conventional sense; instead, the channel's family is this web of tours and associations, each feeding programming into one stream. It is a model other niche sports have begun to copy: aggregate a fragmented sport into a single free channel, then sell the aggregated audience to advertisers and platforms.

Notable Events and Coverage

The Mosconi Cup stands apart in the schedule. A Ryder Cup-style team event in nine-ball pool, it generates the sport's most partisan crowds and its most replayable drama, and Billiard TV's access to a decade of highlights and full-event footage lets it build programming around the rivalry year-round rather than only during the event itself.

Beyond it, the sheer count of live days is the achievement: more than fifty multi-day professional events streamed in 2025, passing 1,000 hours of live programming by the year's end. For a sport whose fans once relied on scattered streams and uploads of variable quality, a single channel carrying that volume, legally and free, represents a structural change in how cue sports are watched.

Recent Developments

The channel described 2025 as its most successful year yet. The Matchroom partnership deepened its archive, live coverage expanded, and distribution kept widening — Prime Video in the United States in April, The Roku Channel, and Prime Video UK in October, when the channel's UK launch was announced from North Haven on 21 October 2025 with the message that British cue sports fans, among the most loyal in sport, were the real winners.

For UK viewers the practical position is now straightforward. Billiard TV can be found free on Prime Video UK and via Channelbox on connected Freeview, carrying live tournaments for much of the year and classic pool around the clock. A channel founded only in 2021 has become, in a remarkably short time, the default answer to a question cue sports fans asked for decades: where can I simply watch pool on television?
