About Dental Tribune
Dental Tribune
Dental Tribune is the international dental trade newspaper published from Leipzig by Dental Tribune International GmbH (DTI) — the sister company of Oemus Media AG: the worldwide dental publishing group whose network of country editions, congress dailies and digital platforms reaches hundreds of thousands of dentists in more than 90 countries. The UK edition at uk.dental-tribune.com is one of the group's national portals; the group's headquarters at Holbeinstraße 29, 04229 Leipzig, houses the international editorial and media-sales operation led by CEO Torsten Oemus. With more than 130 print publications in its portfolio and a daily-news web presence in dozens of languages and markets, Dental Tribune is among the largest dental trade media brands in the world.
Overview
Dental Tribune operates as a global network of national dental trade newspapers and portals rather than a single magazine. The model: local-language editions — the UK, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Indian, Latin American and many other country sites under the dental-tribune.com domain family — each carrying dental news, clinical articles, industry reporting and event coverage for its national profession, coordinated from the Leipzig headquarters. The print core is the Dental Tribune newspaper itself, published in national editions; the digital core is the network of country portals with daily news updates.
The group's distinctive product is the today show daily: a congress newspaper produced on-site at the world's major dental exhibitions and congresses — IDS in Cologne, AEEDC in Dubai, the Greater New York Dental Meeting, the ADF congress in Paris, the FDI World Dental Congress and dozens more — with more than 65 editions a year at its peak. These dailies combine congress programs, exhibitor news, interviews and industry features, distributed free to participants at the venue entrances, and have made DTI the established publishing partner of the world's largest dental event organizers.
Beyond publishing, DTI runs the DT Study Club — a webinar and continuing-education platform with live operations and hands-on webinars — and a digital-marketing arm offering banner advertising, partner content distribution, social media and targeted digital marketing to the dental industry. The group presents itself as a full-service dental media and marketing house: publishing, education and events under one Leipzig roof.
History
Dental Tribune International grew out of the international ambitions of the Leipzig dental publisher Oemus. The Oemus Media AG — founded in 1994 from a continuing-education institute, based at the same Holbeinstraße 29 address in Leipzig — built a portfolio of more than 30 German-language dental titles; its sister company Dental Tribune International was created to take the publishing model worldwide. Oemus's own 30th-anniversary publication (2024) notes that DTI had by then been operating successfully on the international dental stage for 20 years — placing the international group's origins around 2004.
The group's editorial infrastructure was formalized at the first DTI Editors' Meeting, held in Leipzig from 31 May to 2 June 2018: editorial representatives from 20 countries — almost 40 participants — gathered at the international headquarters to agree on journalism cornerstones and production guidelines for the publishing portfolio, which at the time comprised over 130 print publications and websites reaching more than 650,000 dentists in over 90 countries. CEO Torsten Oemus called content the group's biggest asset and the global editorial powerhouse the main driver of its business.
The EuroPerio8 partnership — the official congress newspaper — deserves its telling. In 2015 DTI signed an agreement with the European Federation of Periodontology, one of Europe's largest dental associations, to establish the today show daily as the official congress guide of EuroPerio8 in London. The publisher produced three daily issues in English during the congress, distributed free to the more than 7,000 expected participants at the main entrances of the ExCeL London Exhibition and Convention Centre, alongside editorials, special features and daily online coverage — interviews with key opinion leaders and industry representatives — by an on-site editorial team, plus a dedicated EuroPerio8 topic page with updates, photographs and video. The partnership's function — the 2015's — showed the model: the congress organizer gets the official daily, the industry gets the platform, the participants get the guide — the today at EuroPerio. The Leipzig headquarters remains the group's nerve center: imprint, media sales, newsroom and the Chief Content Officer function all sit at Holbeinstraße 29.
Coverage and Content
The editorial program follows the global dental industry's calendar. The congress coverage — the today show dailies, the official congress newspapers, the on-site editorial teams with interviews, photographs and video — is the group's signature: daily print and online reporting from the world's major dental events. The clinical coverage — dental news, specialist features on implants, aligners, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, cosmetic dentistry, digital dentistry and endodontics ("roots") — serves the practitioner's professional information needs across the national editions.
The industry coverage — product news, company announcements, market developments — serves the dental industry's communication needs; the today dailies explicitly function as a platform for targeted industry communication at congresses. The education coverage — DT Study Club webinars, live operations and hands-on webinars, online specialty symposia, the DDS World "Best of Dentistry" events — extends the brand into continuing education. The media-kit structure (Publishing Media, Digital Media, Education, Events) mirrors the content pillars: print publications by specialty, banner and partner-content digital advertising, webinars and CE events, and the congress dailies.
The country editions localize the mix: the UK edition (uk.dental-tribune.com), for example, carries British dental news alongside the group's international content. The formats' mix — national trade newspapers, congress dailies, daily web news, webinars — defines Dental Tribune: the international dental profession's trade press, published from Leipzig for the world.
Organization and Ownership
Dental Tribune is published by Dental Tribune International GmbH, Holbeinstraße 29, 04229 Leipzig, Germany — registered at the Leipzig district court (HRB 19276), VAT ID DE227724594. The company is represented by Chief Executive Officer Torsten Oemus; the Chief Content Officer responsible for contents is Claudia Duschek (newsroom@dentaltribune.com). The group is the sister company of Oemus Media AG, the Leipzig dental specialist publisher (founded 1994, board: Ingolf Döbbecke, Lutz Hiller, Torsten R. Oemus), and the two houses share the Holbeinstraße address and, per Oemus's anniversary publication, 50 years of combined industry know-how.
The business model is the international trade-media model: print advertising in the national editions and congress dailies, digital advertising (banner, partner content, social, targeted marketing) across the portal network, and education and event revenues (DT Study Club, symposia, congress publishing partnerships). Media sales are handled centrally from Leipzig (mediasales@dental-tribune.com, +49 341 48474 100). Detailed revenue and staffing figures for the group are not publicly confirmed; the portfolio scale — 130-plus print publications, 90-plus countries — is the group's own stated measure.
Digital Presence
The group's digital home is dental-tribune.com with its family of national portals — uk.dental-tribune.com (the row's website), de, fr, es, it, jp, in, latam and others — each carrying daily dental news for its market. The central site also hosts the group's media and marketing presentation: the 2027 media kit with its Publishing Media, Digital Media, Education and Events sections, the DT Study Club webinar program, and the congress-daily portfolio (today Show Dailies, today @ IDS/AEEDC/GNYDM/ADF, World Dental Daily @ FDI).
The group is active on the major social platforms (Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn as DentalTribuneInt / Dental Tribune International). The digital strategy follows the international trade-publisher logic: the national print editions and congress dailies for the tangible trade-press presence — the 130 publications, the 65-plus show dailies — the portal network for the daily global news flow — the country editions, the webinars, the topic pages. As the international dental trade newspaper — the Leipzig-published DTI group (the Oemus sister company, the 2018 Editors' Meeting, the 90-country network) — Dental Tribune remains the dental profession's global trade press: from Leipzig to the world's congress halls, in print and at dental-tribune.com.
