About Finet Group

Finet Group

Finet Group Limited, known in Chinese as Caihua She, is a Hong Kong-headquartered financial information service provider listed on the GEM of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the stock code 8317. Founded in 1998, the group develops, produces and provides financial information, advertising and investor-relations services and technology solutions to corporate and retail clients in Hong Kong and mainland China. Through its Finet.hk, FinTV.hk and Finet.com.cn platforms and its FinTV and Finet Finance Pro mobile applications, it distributes real-time financial news, data, analytics and research to investors across Greater China.

Founding and listing

Company records consistently date Finet's founding to 1998, making it one of the early generation of Hong Kong financial internet businesses. Its annual reports record that the company was incorporated in the Cayman Islands in 1998, and that it was later deregistered there and continued in Bermuda as an exempted company; other filings give the incorporation date as 24 June 2002 in the Cayman Islands with continuation in Bermuda on 16 June 2011, reflecting the group's corporate reorganisations. Finet was listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong's GEM market, with an IPO date recorded as 7 January 2005 and the stock code 08317. GEM, designed for small and mid-sized companies, has remained its listing venue, and its shares trade under the code 8317.

Headquarters and Greater China offices

Finet Group is headquartered in Hong Kong. Its filings give the head office address as 30/F, Fortis Tower, 77–79 Gloucester Road, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. The group maintains offices in Hong Kong, Beijing and Shenzhen, with Shanghai also recorded among its office locations in group summaries, giving it a presence in the mainland's principal financial centres as well as its home market. Its registered office following continuation is at Clarendon House, 2 Church Street, Hamilton, Bermuda. The office network supports a business that sells both to Hong Kong's listed companies and investors and to mainland clients connected to the Hong Kong market.

Operating platforms

Finet describes itself as an integrated platform hosting news media, public-relations and social networking services for listed companies and investors. Its operations are organised into five units: Finet.hk, FinTV.hk, Finet.com.cn, the FinTV app and the Finet Finance Pro app — three websites and two mobile applications. Through these channels the group provides real-time market data on stocks and derivatives and analysis tools for the Hong Kong and United States markets, together with financial news, data, analytics and research distributed via electronic and online media. The primary focus of the operation, as stated in its filings, is financial public relations and branding for listed companies, with the investor-facing information services supplying the audience that makes that PR platform valuable.

Financial information services

The financial information business is the group's founding activity: the development, production and provision of financial information services to corporate and retail clients. In practice this means real-time financial information including news, market data, analytics and research, delivered through the group's websites and apps to investors across Greater China. Filings in recent years note that service income from the financial information business has been relatively insignificant compared with advertising and investor-relations income, which has become the major source of revenue — a shift that mirrors the wider economics of free online financial content, in which audiences are monetised principally through services sold to the listed companies they follow.

Advertising and investor-relations services

Advertising and investor-relations services form the largest part of Finet's business. The group's investor-relations offer, described in its annual reports, includes the production of promotional videos; the arrangement of press conferences and celebration events; the arrangement of investor meetings; the preparation of investor-relations articles; and news distribution for listed companies and pre-IPO assignments. Management has described the investor-relations business as an expected profit stream covering both listed companies and pre-IPO clients, supported by the FinTV media brand. The media business itself includes the production and distribution of programmes under the FinTV brand, investor-relations work and creative advertising. In 2025 the group entered strategic cooperation agreements with several local consultancy and marketing companies to accelerate investor-relations business development, and reported that growth in advertising and investor-relations services drove an eighty-eight point four per cent revenue increase and a return to net profit for the six months ended 30 September 2025.

Securities and other businesses

Through its wholly owned subsidiary Finet Securities Limited, the group holds licences from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission for Type 1 (dealing in securities), Type 4 (advising on securities) and Type 9 (asset management) regulated activities, offering brokerage, underwriting, discretionary portfolio management, investment advisory and private fund management services, with filings describing a focus on reactivating full brokerage operations by January 2026. The group's segment reporting has at various times also included talent search services, property investment and a money lending business, the latter discontinued during the year ended 31 March 2025. Recent filings record a lean organisation of forty-three employees, and the disposal during the year ended March 2025 of interests in several subsidiaries, as the group concentrated on its information, media and investor-relations core.

Ownership and governance

Finet Group is an investment holding company whose principal activity is holding its operating subsidiaries. Company summaries record it as a subsidiary of Maxx Capital International Limited, ultimately controlled by its chairman and executive director, Ms. Lo Yuk Yee, following a transfer of equity interest on 24 April 2025. Board changes recorded in 2025 included the appointment of Dr. Xu Zuli as an independent non-executive director on 13 June 2025, taking roles on the audit, remuneration, nomination and corporate governance committees. As a GEM-listed company, Finet publishes annual and quarterly results through Hong Kong's disclosure system; its annual report for 2024/25 recorded a reduced loss after tax of approximately HK$3.07 million for the year ended 31 March 2025, compared with approximately HK$7.28 million the year before, illustrating both the small scale of the group and its recent trajectory toward profitability in its core services.

Position in Hong Kong financial media

Finet belongs to the generation of Hong Kong financial information companies that built web audiences in the late nineteen-nineties and then adapted as the market changed around them. Its model — free and subscription financial information and video for investors on one side, and advertising, branding and investor-relations services sold to listed companies on the other — is the classic two-sided structure of financial media, executed at small-company scale from its Wan Chai headquarters. With its GEM listing, its FinTV video brand, its mainland offices in Beijing and Shenzhen and its licensed securities subsidiary, Finet Group remains a recognisable participant in the Greater China financial information market more than twenty-five years after its founding, and its filings provide an unusually detailed public record of how a small Hong Kong financial media business operates.

Development in recent years

Finet's recent filings describe a group deliberately refocusing on its strongest lines. The money lending business was discontinued during the year ended 31 March 2025, several non-core subsidiaries were disposed of in the same year, and management described plans to reactivate full brokerage operations through Finet Securities by January 2026 while building the investor-relations business through strategic cooperation agreements with local consultancy and marketing companies. The reported results for the six months ended 30 September 2025 — revenue growth of eighty-eight point four per cent to HK$7.854 million and a consolidated net profit of HK$2.7 million, driven by advertising and investor-relations services, talent search services and financial information services — suggest that the refocus on media, branding and investor relations is where the group's commercial momentum lies. With forty-three employees recorded in recent profiles, Finet operates at a fraction of the scale of Hong Kong's largest financial media groups, but its combination of a stock exchange listing, three websites, two apps, a video brand and a licensed securities arm gives it a breadth of regulated and media activities unusual for a company of its size, and its public filings make that structure transparent to any reader of this directory.
