Hola Qatar Radio is a Spanish-language radio station broadcasting from Doha, Qatar, on 92.0 FM. Launched on 2 November 2022 by the Qatar Media Corporation, it replaced the MBC FM Arabic service on the frequency — and its timing was no accident: the station went on air just weeks before the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, welcoming the hundreds of thousands of Spanish-speaking visitors expected from Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Colombia and across Latin America. QMC CEO Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Thani Al Thani framed it as a cultural mission: a station for hospitality, cultural exchange and the Spanish-speaking community.
The idea had been hinted at since 2017, when ministerial remarks suggested a future Spanish radio service. It materialised in 2022: on 2 November 2022, Hola Qatar Radio launched on 92.0 MHz as a QMC station, replacing MBC FM's Arabic service on the frequency. The World Cup context was everything — twelve years of preparation had built the stadiums and the infrastructure, and the station was part of the welcome: Spanish-language radio for the fans, in the host country, during the tournament.
Some sources date the launch to September 2022; the majority record 2 November 2022, which is used here. The station's early World Cup coverage drew mixed assessments — the Argentine outlet iProfesional critiqued the "bar sports" tone of some early broadcasts, a journalistic growing pain reported here as opinion, not fact — but the station found its footing as a music and culture service.
The backbone is live Latin music: Spanish pop, reggaeton, salsa, bachata and Latin hits from Spain, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina. Around the music, the station carries talk, news, sports and educational content — a full-service Spanish station. Genres span sports, talk, Latin music and news, with a dual audience in mind: Spanish-speaking residents of Qatar and visitors discovering the country.
Qatar 2022 was the station's raison d'être at launch. Mexico and Argentina brought among the largest travelling fan bases, and the tournament's Spanish-speaking audience numbered in the hundreds of thousands. For a country where Spanish speakers are a small minority, the station was a hospitality statement: the host nation speaking the visitors' language. After the tournament, the station's mission evolved into a permanent community service for Qatar's Spanish-speaking residents.

Hola Qatar Radio is distinct as the official state-radio Spanish service — QMC's own station, with institutional backing and a post-World Cup future as a community mission for Spanish speakers in Qatar.
