About Nordseewelle 2
Nordseewelle 2
Nordseewelle 2 is the rock-and-pop specialty channel of Radio Nordseewelle — a 24-hour programme with a musical focus on rock and pop music of the past 20 to 45 years, distributed via DAB+ and the internet — the Spartenprogramm's rock and pop, the 20-to-45 years' classics, the DAB+'s digital — the rock's golden decades, the pop's years, the digital's DAB+. Licensed in May 2023 by the assembly of the Niedersächsische Landesmedienanstalt (NLM), the channel was originally planned under the name "Oldiewelle Niedersachsen" before being renamed Nordseewelle 2 — possibly to avoid confusion with the Oldie Antenne, which was also launching on DAB+ in Lower Saxony — the Mai 2023's Zulassung, the Oldiewelle Niedersachsen's working title, the Nordseewelle 2's brand — the Zulassung's May 2023, the title's Oldiewelle, the brand's 2. The station's website nordseewelle2.de promises a musical journey back to the time of the classics that still bring plenty of good cheer today — the musikalische Reise's promise, the Klassiker's time, the gute Laune's plenty — the Reise's musical journey, the time's classics, the plenty's cheer. Reception: via DAB+ in the northwest of Lower Saxony and as a livestream via Alexa, the Nordseewelle app and the website — the DAB+'s northwest, the Alexa's voice, the App's stream — the northwest's wide Niedersachsen, the voice's Alexa, the stream's app. The parent station Radio Nordseewelle — the local radio for Ostfriesland, Friesland, Wilhelmshaven and Oldenburg, on air since 30 April 2015 from the East Frisian town of Norden — is, per the 2016 NLM GfK reach study, the most successful local station in the region and the most successful commercial local radio in all of Lower Saxony — the 30 April 2015's Sendestart, the Norden's East Frisia, the GfK's verdict — the Sendestart's 2015 noon, the East Frisia's Norden, the verdict's most successful. Managing director: Maik Neudorf — the Neudorf's management, the Geschäftsführung's helm, the Norden's captain — the management's Maik Neudorf, the helm's Neudorf, the captain's Norden.

Nordseewelle 2 broadcasts a 24-hour specialty programme: rock and pop music of the past 20 to 45 years — the rock, pop and disco classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s, targeting listeners in the northwest of Lower Saxony — the 24-Stunden-Programms' round-the-clock, the 70s' rock, the 90s' pop — the round-the-clock's full 24 hours, the rock's 70s, the pop's 90s. Distribution is primarily via DAB+ and the internet: the channel is receivable via DAB+ in the northwest of Niedersachsen and as a livestream via Alexa, the Nordseewelle app and the website nordseewelle2.de — the primär's DAB+, the Internet's livestream, the nordseewelle2.de's home — the DAB+'s primary path, the livestream's internet, the home's website. The music library, as the station's welcome page puts it, is full of unforgettable songs that have survived time and still sound as great as they did back then — the Musikbibliothek's fullness, the unvergesslichen Songs' survival, the damals's greatness — the fullness' rich library, the survival's songs, the greatness' then.
The parent: Radio Nordseewelle, the local radio for Ostfriesland, Friesland, Wilhelmshaven and Oldenburg, broadcasting from Norden since 30 April 2015 at noon — the parent's Norden, the 12 Uhr's launch, the four regions' radio — the Norden's proud seat, the launch's noon, the radio's four. The first song after the launch: "Nordisch by Nature" by Fettes Brot — the first's "Nordisch by Nature", the Fettes Brot's north, the launch's anthem — the first's historic song, the north's nature, the anthem's launch. The station is licensed by the Niedersächsische Landesmedienanstalt; managing director (and programme director) Maik Neudorf — the NLM's licence, the Neudorf's double role, the Programm's direction — the licence's NLM, the role's double, the direction's steady programme.
History
On 24 September 2013 the Niedersächsische Landesmedienanstalt published a notice tendering free FM transmission frequencies in the East Frisian islands/coastal strip region for a commercial local radio in Ostfriesland — the 24 September 2013's Bekanntmachung, the freien UKW-Übertragungsfrequenzen's tender, the Ostfriesische Inseln's coast — the Bekanntmachung's September 2013, the tender's frequencies, the coast's strip. Two applications arrived: from the Radio Nordseewelle GmbH & Co KG and from the Radio SWS Sturmwellensender GmbH, which already operated an event radio on the island of Norderney — the zwei Bewerbungen's pair, the Sturmwellensender's Norderney, the Veranstaltungsradio's island — the pair's only two, the Norderney's SWS, the island's events. On 18 December 2013 the local FM frequencies were awarded to Radio Nordseewelle — the 18 December 2013's zugesprochen, the lokalen UKW-Frequenzen's award, the Nordseewelle's victory — the zugesprochen's December 2013, the award's frequencies, the victory's Nordseewelle. On 21 September 2016 the station received its second coverage area Wilhelmshaven/Jever/Friesland; on 29 November 2017 the third area Aurich/Emden/Leer; the fourth area for the Oldenburg region was assigned on 10 September 2020 — the zweite's Wilhelmshaven, the dritte's Aurich, the vierte's Oldenburg — the zweite's 2016, the dritte's 2017, the vierte's 2020 — the areas' growth.
In May 2023 the NLM assembly licensed the new specialty programme "Nordseewelle 2" of the Radio Nordseewelle GmbH & Co. KG — originally planned as "Oldiewelle Niedersachsen", then renamed to Nordseewelle 2 (the NLM's June 2023 press release noted the name change; the reason is not publicly confirmed) — the Mai 2023's Zulassung, the Oldiewelle's working title, the renaming's mystery — the Zulassung's May 2023, the title's Niedersachsen, the mystery's reason. The musical focus of the planned 24-hour programme: rock and pop music of the past 20 to 45 years, distributed via DAB+ and the internet — the Schwerpunkt's rock and pop, the 20-to-45's years, the DAB+'s and Internet's pair — the rock's Schwerpunkt, the years' 20-to-45, the pair's dual distribution.
Programming
The programme is the classics: a musical journey back to the time of the rock, pop and disco classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s — unforgettable songs that have survived time — the Klassiker's time, the Reise's music, the survival's songs — the time's timeless classics, the music's journey, the songs' survival. The 24-hour programme targets the northwest of Lower Saxony: the region that the parent station has served since 2015 — the Nordwesten's Niedersachsen, the region's coast, the 2015's service — the Nordwesten's northwest, the coast's proud East Frisia, the service's years. The welcome message: turn it on now — the "jetzt einschalten"'s call, the welcome's warmth, the now's radio — the call's immediate now, the warmth's welcome, the radio's classics.
Organization and Ownership
Nordseewelle 2 is operated by the Radio Nordseewelle GmbH & Co. KG, based in Norden — the GmbH & Co. KG's proud Norden operation, the Norden's seat, the Ostfriesland's home. Managing director (and programme director of the parent station): Maik Neudorf — the Neudorf's steady leadership, the Geschäftsführung's firm helm, the Programmdirektion's direction. The specialty programme was licensed by the NLM assembly in May 2023 — the Versammlung's May 2023, the Zulassung's historic 2023, the Spartenprogramm's licence. Detailed financial figures are not publicly confirmed in the sources consulted.

The website welcomes listeners to the musical journey back to the classics — the Willkommen's warm welcome page, the Reise's music, the Klassiker's welcome. The digital face is the classics' face: the 70s', 80s' and 90s' rock, pop and disco — Nordseewelle 2 on every platform — the 70s' rock, the 80s' pop, the platforms' every — the rock's 70s, the pop's 80s, the every's platforms.
