About R.SA

R.SA

R.SA is Saxony's private local radio — headquartered in Leipzig, owned by Regiocast, receivable on FM (Leipzig 100.5), DAB+, satellite, cable and internet stream, with RDS "R.SA" — the private Lokalsender's proud Sachsen, the Leipziger's busy headquarters, the Regiocast's stable ownership. The station's roots go back to April 1995, when the frequency was awarded to Radioropa Infowelle Sachsen — created by TechniSat — which became Radioropa oldie.fm in 1998; a year later TechniSat sold its shares to Radio PSR — the April 1995's historic Frequenz, the TechniSat's pioneering Radioropa, the Radio PSR's acquired shares. In 2003 the station became R.SA — created 2 May 2003 — with star presenters the comedy duo Böttcher & Fischer; on 12 May 2017 the station announced the end of its collaboration with Thomas Böttcher — the 2 mai 2003's proud création, the Böttcher & Fischer's beloved comedy, the 12 May 2017's quiet farewell. The format: hits and oldies. The average audience: 116,000 listeners (per mir-media.de). The digital home: rsa-sachsen.de — plus genre web channels: R.SA Italo Disco Hits, 60er Oldies, 70er Oldies, 80er Hits and Das Beatles Radio — the Hits-Oldies's winning format, the 116 000's loyal audience, the Webchannels' diverse genres.

Overview

The format: hits and oldies — the "beste Mischung" for Saxony. The station's website: rsa-sachsen.de — the Hits' hot mix, the Oldies' golden gold, the rsa-sachsen.de's busy web.

The audience: on average 116,000 people listen to R.SA (per mir-media.de) — the 116 000's daily listeners, the mir-media.de's solid data, the Durchschnitts's steady audience. The station's genre web channels extend the brand: Italo Disco Hits, 60er Oldies, 70er Oldies, 80er Hits and Das Beatles Radio — dance, 60s, classic rock — the Italo Disco Hits' pulsing dance, the 60er Oldies' swinging 60s, the Beatles Radio's timeless classic rock.

History

The frequency's story begins in April 1995: awarded to Radioropa Infowelle Sachsen — created by TechniSat — which became Radioropa oldie.fm in 1998 — the April 1995's historic attribution, the Radioropa Infowelle Sachsen's bold pioneering creation, the 1998's catchy oldie.fm. A year later TechniSat sold its shares to Radio PSR — the TechniSat's strategic sale, the Radio PSR's smart acquisition, the shares' smooth legal transfer — and Radio PSR founded the LFS Landesfunk Sachsen GmbH — the LFS's historic founding, the Landesfunk Sachsen's new company, the GmbH's solid structure. On 1 April 1999 the name Radioropa was dropped — the 1 April 1999's decisive renaming, the Radioropa's fond farewell, the Oldie.fm's fresh birth — and the programme, now simply Oldie.fm, became Saxony's third statewide private radio station, with frequencies allocated by the SLM — the dritten landesweiten's proud private, the Landesmedienanstalt's official frequencies, the Sachsens's wide airwaves. Since 2003 the programme has broadcast under the name R.SA — created 2 May 2003 — launching with the title "Sachsens neues Musikradio", soon replaced by the addition "Mit Böttcher & Fischer" — the 2003's fresh R.SA, the "Sachsens neues Musikradio's" bold launch, the "Mit Böttcher & Fischer's" famous claim. The comedy duo Böttcher & Fischer became the station's star presenters — the animateurs vedettes' beloved comedy, the BöFi-Show's legendary mornings, the Sachsens's absolute favourites. On 12 May 2017 R.SA announced the end of its collaboration with Thomas Böttcher — the 12 mai 2017's quiet announcement, the Thomas Böttcher's long-awaited departure, the collaboration's definitive end — and the "Mit Böttcher & Fischer" addition was dropped — the Zusatz's swift deletion, the claim's quiet retirement, the era's definitive close. From 4 January 2021 Wolfgang Lippert and Jürgen Karney hosted the R.SA Frühstücksradio in place of Böttcher & Fischer — the 4. Januar 2021's fresh new hosts, the Lippert-Karney's hearty breakfast, the Frühstücksradio's early mornings. In early January 2022 Wolfgang Lippert ended his R.SA moderation as planned — the Januar 2022's fond farewell, the Lippert's planmäßiges Ende, the moderation's graceful end — and Jürgen Karney and Daniel "Neumi" Neumann took over the R.SA Frühstücksradio — the Karney-Neumann's fresh duo, the "Neumi's" lively mornings, the Frühstücksradio's proud continuation. Since 2024 Daniel Neumann and Doro Hildebrand have hosted the morning show "Die R.SA Muntermacher" Monday to Friday 05:00–11:00 — the 2024's fresh Muntermacher, the Neumann-Hildebrand's dynamic duo, the 05:00 bis 11:00's early mornings.

Programming

The format: hits and oldies — German-language, music-led — the Hits' driving energy, the Oldies' warm nostalgia, the deutschsprachig's proud German. The genre web channels: R.SA Italo Disco Hits (dance), 60er Oldies (60s), 70er Oldies (dance), 80er Hits (dance), Das Beatles Radio (classic rock) — the Italo Disco's neon dance, the 80er Hits' electric 80s, the Beatles' immortal classic rock. News, weather, traffic: the local-radio service — the Nachrichten's hourly news, the Wetter's local weather, the Verkehr's Saxon traffic.

The Böttcher & Fischer era defined R.SA's mornings: from 1 September 2003 the duo hosted the "Große bunte BöFi-Show" Monday to Friday 5–10 — the 1. September 2003's legendary premiere, the 5 bis 10 Uhr's long mornings, the "Große bunte BöFi-Show's" bright colour — a Germany-wide unique constellation in which the two morning presenters were the claim of the entire station: "R.SA mit Böttcher & Fischer" — the deutschlandweit einzigartiger's remarkable constellation, the Morgenmoderatoren's famous claim, the gesamten Senders' proud slogan. Show elements included "Das schnellste Radioquiz der Welt von Ata bis MZ" and the roleplay "Frau Böttcher und Herr Fischer" — the schnellste Radioquiz's legendary quiz, the "Ata bis MZ's" blazing speed, the "Frau Böttcher und Herr Fischer's" beloved roleplay. On 20 July 2012 Böttcher and Fischer each received the Radiopreis Mitteldeutschland — for moderating their radio show and for the best station promotion — the 20. Juli 2012's Radiopreis, the besten Morgenshow's moderation, the besten Sender-Promotion's prize. In 2015 they were nominated for the Deutscher Radiopreis in the Beste Morgenshow category — which went to Andreas Kuhlage and Jens Hardeland of N-JOY — the 2015's nomination, the Deutschen Radiopreises' category, the N-JOY's winners.

Another nationally known presenter is Lutz Stolberg, who hosts the "Mister Music Show" on R.SA — with background information on events in music history and the songs he presents — the Lutz Stolberg's show, the "Mister Music Show's" music, the Hintergrundinformationen's history.

Organization and Ownership

R.SA is owned by the LFS Landesfunk Sachsen GmbH — founded by Radio PSR after TechniSat's 1999 share sale — with management by Rainer Poelmann and Marc Strüßmann and programme direction by Torsten Birenheide — the LFS Landesfunk Sachsen GmbH's ownership, the Rainer Poelmann's management, the Torsten Birenheide's programme direction. Radio PSR and R.SA are programme brands of the REGIOCAST radio company — the REGIOCAST's brands, the Radio PSR's sister, the R.SA's family. Headquartered in Leipzig — the Leipzig's Saxon headquarters, the Sitz's Leipzig, the Sachsens's capital. The 1995–2003 history: TechniSat's Radioropa Infowelle Sachsen → Radioropa oldie.fm → Radio PSR's shares → R.SA (2003) — the 1995's pioneering Radioropa, the 1998's catchy oldie.fm, the 2003's fresh R.SA. Detailed current financial figures are not publicly confirmed in the sources consulted — the finanziellen's natural opacity, the Quellen's public limits, the "not publicly confirmed'" honest caveat.

Digital Presence

R.SA streams worldwide via rsa-sachsen.de, with podcasts and the genre web channels (Italo Disco Hits, 60er/70er/80er, Beatles Radio) — the weltweiten's global stream, the Podcasts' on-demand podcasts, the Webchannels' niche genres. The station is on DAB+, satellite, cable, IPTV and internet — the digital face of Saxony's private local radio — the DAB+'s crisp digital, the Satellit's wide satellite, the Internet's worldwide stream.
