About Véro
Véro
Overview
Véro (styled VÉRO) is a French-language women's lifestyle magazine published in Montreal, Quebec, created in collaboration with television and radio host Véronique Cloutier, one of Quebec's most popular and durable media personalities. Launched in September 2013 by TC Media, the magazine is built around Cloutier's personality, values and interests, covering fashion and beauty, food, health and vitality, family life and culture in a seasonal print edition supported by the daily digital platform veroniquecloutier.com. Since 2019 it has been published by the Montreal magazine house KO Média, which also publishes ELLE Québec. KO Média's 2026 media kit, citing Vividata data, reports a print readership of 378,000 and a digital readership of 478,000, for a total unduplicated audience of just over one million readers.
History
TC Media announced the magazine in March 2013, presenting it as a new women's title developed with Véronique Cloutier, then already a fixture of Quebec television and radio through programs such as Les Enfants de la télé and her Rythme FM drive-time show. The first issue reached newsstands across Quebec on September 20, 2013, with an initial distribution of 120,000 copies and 180 pages — its logo stamped in bright silver — built around the theme "La vie à la folie." Sylvie Poirier served as editor-in-chief at launch. The quarterly magazine was conceived from the start as a multiplatform brand: a website, an iPad edition and a companion docu-reality series, Véro Inc., on Canal Vie accompanied the print launch, and the cover of the first issue used augmented-reality technology to unlock behind-the-scenes video.
The magazine's content mirrored its muse's daily life: Cloutier's own stylist, makeup artist, trainer and mother contributed regular pages, and recurring sections included Nos buzz, Femmes club, Psycho, Carnet pratique and Planète hommes, a section aimed at male readers. The launch, unveiled at a Montreal event hosted by Patrick Marsolais with TC Media president Ted Markle in attendance, positioned the title within TC Media's portfolio of French-language consumer magazines for women, published four times a year and addressed, in the publisher's words, to passionate, active women who want to feel good about themselves and make the most of family life. After TC Media's parent Transcontinental restructured its consumer magazine portfolio in the mid-2010s, publishing of the title passed through TVA Publications before KO Média, the Montreal publisher founded around the ELLE Québec licence, took over the magazine in 2019, the same year it assumed publishing of ELLE Québec from TVA. Under KO Média the magazine has kept its seasonal rhythm while leaning further into multiplatform storytelling, with each print issue supported by extensive video and web coverage on Cloutier's site. Cloutier has remained the magazine's cover presence and editorial centre throughout: in 2025 she appeared on the cover without makeup, hairstyling or fashion styling, a presentation widely discussed in Quebec media, and in June 2026 the summer issue carried a first-ever cover portrait of Cloutier with her husband, Louis Morissette, and their three children.
Content and Coverage
KO Média's 2026 media kit organises the magazine's editorial around six main themes: fashion and beauty, food, lifestyle, health and vitality, family, and culture and society. Regular contributors named in the kit include nutritionist Karine Gravel, mixologist Rose Simard, chefs Dan & Blake, a pediatrician, psychologist Dre Lory Zéphyr and astrologer Mademoiselle Lili, alongside Cloutier's own columns and curated product selections, such as her seasonal "Top V" lists of favourite finds with an emphasis on Quebec-made products. Feature coverage ranges from celebrity interviews and cover stories to practical service journalism on relationships, parenting, money and wellbeing, recipes, home and travel ideas, and an annual autumn theme issue, "Oser être soi" ("Dare to be yourself"), which in 2026 addressed body image and fatphobia with a panel of guest contributors.
The print magazine publishes seasonal issues through the year. Editions documented across 2025 and 2026 include a holiday issue (Fêtes 2025) and winter, spring, summer and autumn 2026 issues, each promoted with behind-the-scenes coverage on the brand's website. The summer 2026 issue was built around family and slowing down, while the winter 2026 issue explored parenting with guests Katherine Levac and Félix-Antoine Tremblay. The autumn "Oser être soi" issue has become an annual franchise: the 2025 edition gathered five emblematic figures of women's sport — Chantal Machabée, Latifah Abdu, Marie-Philip Poulin, Geneviève Jeanson and Mel Charlot — while the 2026 edition, again under the "Oser être soi" banner, brought together Debbie Lynch-White, Julie Artacho, Fabiola Nyrva Aladin and Guylaine Guay. Food coverage is a substantial strand, from holiday recipe collections to the regular contributions of the magazine's chefs, and the site extends the brand between issues with daily service content such as seasonal shopping selections, travel features and a monthly horoscope.
Audience and Reach
The figures published in KO Média's 2026 media kit, drawn from Vividata's Spring and Fall 2025 studies for total Canada, age 14 and over, give VÉRO a print readership of 378,000 and a digital readership of 478,000, with an unduplicated multiplatform total of 1,043,000. The kit profiles a readership with a median age of 44 in print and 43 digitally, 72 per cent women in print and 64 per cent digitally, roughly three-quarters of readers living in urban centres of 100,000 or more, and about three in five readers having completed post-secondary education. These are the publisher's own kit figures, presented here as such. Veroniquecloutier.com averaged about 151,000 unique users per month in the twelve months to June 2025 according to the Google Analytics data quoted in the same kit, and the brand is also distributed through Apple News and social platforms.
Digital Presence
Veroniquecloutier.com is the brand's digital hub, publishing daily articles across beauty, food, culture, home, fashion and society, video content including behind-the-scenes features for each print issue, recipes, horoscopes and Cloutier's personal selections. Site content dated September 2026 confirms the platform remains active, and material from the site is syndicated through partners including MSN. The brand maintains a newsletter and social media presences tied to both the magazine and Cloutier herself, and magazine subscriptions and promotional offers, including Black Friday campaigns, are sold through KO Média's channels.
Ownership and Organisation
VÉRO is published in Montreal by KO Média, which took over the title in 2019 and also publishes ELLE Québec and, under contract, the redesigned FADOQ magazine Virage.
