The Williston Herald is a daily newspaper based in Williston, North Dakota, serving Williams County, northwest North Dakota and northeast Montana. The official newspaper of Williams County and the City of Williston, it is the main paper of the Bakken oilfield region.
Founded August 17, 1899, as a weekly by E.M. Crary, the Herald launched a daily edition in 1930 and became a full-sized daily in 1935.
The newspaper was acquired by Forum Communications from Wick Communications in January 2026. It publishes six days a week, every day except Saturday.
